God's Children Adoption Agency
Our Agency's Requirements for Adoptions

Residency: At least one parent must be a U.S. citizen, living in the United States.

Marital Status: Couples wishing to adopt must be legally married for at least 1 year. The family must consist of a two-parent home, i.e.; both mother and father living in the home. Single parents may also apply and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Age: Both mother and father must be over 25 years of age.

Housing: Housing should provide adequate space and living conditions necessary to promote the health, safety, and well being of the child and other family members. The home may be owned or leased, with no specific size or value.

Religion: God's Children Adoption Agency, Inc. is a Christian adoption agency and therefore places children only in Christian homes; families who are active in the Church, have the intention of raising their adopted child(ren) in the Church, and are mature in their own spiritual life. The family must be willing to submit a written narrative concerning their Christian beliefs.

Health: There should be medical evidence that the applicants have reasonable health and life expectancy and that the applicants have the physical and emotional ability to care for and support the family. A medical history and physical examination may be required.

Income: Applicant's income should be adequate to support the family, including the newly adopted child. Verification of income and financial position will be required.

Other Children: Applicants will be given the same consideration whether they are presently childless, have biological children, or have other adopted children.

Working Parents: Applicant couples who both work outside the home should have a suitable plan in place for secure, responsible child care adequate to the individual child's needs. One parent must plan on spending some time, dependent on the age of the child, at home before returning to work.

Ability to Travel: If applicable, both parents are expected to travel to the country of the child's origin before the adoption is finalized.

Home Study: The home study must be completed by a representative of the agency and approved by a licensed Social Worker affiliated with God's Children Adoption Agency, Inc.

Training: Both parents must complete a minimum of ten hours of pre-adoption training as required by the agency.
